A Day Without A Gay.

December 10th is almost here.

MSNBC has mentioned the event, as have others. The official website reminds you that you can be fired in 30 states simply for being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered, but does not actually list the states both pro and con. For T, it's actually 37.

Thirteen states plus the District of Columbia protect sexual orientation and gender identity.

Minnesota
Rhode Island
New Mexico
California
District of Columbia
Illinois
Maine
Hawaii
New Jersey
Washington
Iowa
Oregon
Vermont
Colorado

Only seven states protect sexual orientation.

Wisconsin
Massachusetts
Connecticut
New Hampshire
Nevada
Maryland
New York

You can be fired in any other state. Be warned and take care (courtesy of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force).

With all the problems in this world, you would think that the h8ters could find much better things to do with their time, wouldn't you?

May we both live to see not just a country but a world where this is no longer a problem!

Hi Anon
Thanks for putting this list up. I also have the option to live in Florida so this was interesting.

In trying to build my family of choice, I have just started researching Foster Care and Adoption. Seems like New York is willing to accept a "Partner" in the household as long as it is a stable relationship. Only one adult though is able to adopt, not both.

Adoption is also a GBLT issue that varies state by state.

I wish You and Your BF a good holiday and that spirits are healing from the events of your last post.
